Visit the RTI Online Portal at rtionline.gov.in
Create a free account with your Aadhaar or email
Select the Ministry or public authority you want to query
Pay ₹ 10 (BPL citizens are exempt - attach proof)
Submit your application and save the registration number
Track response status on the portal - CPIO must reply within 30 days
